TEAM SPIRIT CHEER
AND DANCE
ABOUT TEAM SPIRIT CHEER
Team Spirit Cheer (TSC) has one objective…to provide one of the best, most disciplined training programs in the Nation! TSC athletes learn to excel in all areas of cheerleading, while working collectively to develop into the best program possible as coaches instill qualities and values that last a lifetime!
As a part of building a well-rounded individual, Team Spirit Cheer prides itself in providing opportunities for their athletes to participate in various community events, such as parades, festivals, UF sporting events and community service projects.
Team Spirit Cheer believes that team building is as essential as competitive skills. Team building activities include camp, parties, games, banquet, community service, and team building exercises for the first six weeks of our season.
Any girl or boy between the ages of 4-18 (Cheer) can join Team Spirit Cheer. No cheerleading, tumbling or technical dance skills are necessary to join Team Spirit Cheer. TSC coaches will give you the training so you can become the best cheerleader you can be.
TEAM PLACEMENT
Although age is a factor in team placement, children of the same age may be placed on different teams due to their skill level and/or the needs of that particular team. Members may compete on multiple teams at the Program Director’s discretion. Members may be added throughout the season at the Program Director’s discretion.

Age divisions are based on age as of August 31, 2011 |
Teams compete not only by division of age, but by division of skill as well. These divisions limit the difficulty of both tumbling and stunting.
Teams are comprised of athletes with a variety of skills and abilities (like a football or basketball team), and should be well-rounded athletes.
ABOUT TEAM SPIRIT DANCE
Team Spirit Dance (TSD) is a BRAND NEW addition to Sun Country Sports Center. It will serve as a competitive dance program that will give students the opportunity to be part of a non-traditional, all star dance team. TSD students will be challenged with incredible dance technique and will learn innovative and ground-breaking choreography. All students will build characteristics such as teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, dedication, integrity, confidence, loyalty, friendships, strong work ethics, and everlasting memories. Each dancer will receive much more than dance training from our program; they will blossom into individuals that the community will be proud to know.
AUDITION WORKSHOP
Each year we will host annual dance team auditions to build our teams for the upcoming season. Dancers from ages 4 and up, from novice to advanced, will be welcome. At the audition workshop, parents will have an informative meeting regarding all details about TSD.
Dancers will participate in a workshop where they will learn different styles of dance and technique. The parents and dancers will have an opportunity to get to know the coaches, their fellow dancers, and will determine if TSD is the right fit. In turn, the coaches will get to know the dancers and parents as well. At the end of the week, the coaches will place dancers on competitive teams that best match their attitude and ability.
The purpose of the audition workshop is for the dancer and parent to obtain information on TSD and decide if this is something they would like to be a part of. It also allows the coaches to study the dancer’s attitude, work ethic and ability in which only the coaches can determine on which team or teams each dancer should be placed. The audition workshop will be mandatory for all dancers. If for some reason, a dancer is unable to attend the workshop, they will still be required to audition and pay the audition fee by appointment only.
WHAT WE DO
Teams will train and compete throughout the season in local, state, and national competitions (December thru April). Tiny and Mini dancers will not be required to travel more than 2 hours. Teams will also participate in community events and service projects. Class and competition schedules will be determined by age group and type of team.
